ENGAGING HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS IN RESEARCH

There are several individual efforts to engage high school students in research. Eike Bauer is in contact with Wentzville Holt High School who regularly sent students to our department for high school research. These high school students present their research at the Missouri Tri-County Regional Science and Engineering Fair (hosted by Francis Howell North High School, Wentzville Holt High School and Saint Charles County Community College). Keith Stine is in contact with a MS student from our department, who is a science teacher at The Gateway Science Academy St. Louis and asked the department whether we could host high school research students. The Academy sent five students so far to our department for high school research.
